Council has formally announced that Ilyaree Snider's submission titled "Understanding Reconciliation" has been selected to feature throughout our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

STORYTIME COMES TO BLOOMFIELD

We are delighted to announce that Storytime is coming to Bloomfield Library - fortnightly on Fridays from Friday 5 May 2023 - as part of the First 5 Forever program, thanks to the Queensland Government, the State Library of Queensland and Cook Shire Council.

FREE, SUPERPOWERED FAMILY FUN

Take part in interactive art projects designed by four Australian artists – Kaylene Whiskey (Yankunytjatjara people), Tony Albert (Girramay/ Yidinyji/Kuku Yalanji peoples), Gordon Hookey (Waanyi people) and Vincent Namatjira (Western Aranda people) – when  Superpowered on Tour comes to Cooktown, Lakeland and Ayton this March and April. Activities include creating your own party scene, making a kangaroo mask and designing your own superhero!
