VOLUNTEERING
Volunteers are of utmost importance in any regional centre and Cook Shire Council is proud of the strong tradition of volunteering that is demonstrated within the community.
Cook Shire Council occasionally calls upon volunteers to assist with various tasks, including:
- Event Assistants help us bring to life a number of different community events that bring joy and entertainment to our residents and visitors. Also a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for event experience. - Visitor Information Centre Staff provide valuable information and assistance to visitors, ensuring they have a memorable experience in our region. If you would like to volunteer at the Cooktown Visitor Information Centre, please contact our Tourism Team by phoneing 4082 0500 or emailing mail@cook.qld.gov.au
- Library Volunteers support the Cook Shire Library Service by assisting with tasks or participating in special projects based on your skills and interests. If you’re a friendly, responsible community member who enjoys detailed work and wants to support our library service, our Library team would love to hear from you.
