Do you know a local sports star who deserves to be recognised!

Nominations for the NQ Sportstar Awards 2024 open Wednesday 14 August until Monday 6 September 2024!

These awards recognise outstanding athletic achievements by North Queensland’s elite athletes and honour the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and organisers.

All nominations get put forward to Council who will then can nominate up to 5 athletes to represent our Shire in each category.

Categories for Nominations

• Junior Sportstar of the Year (under the age of 18 years during the awards period)
• Rural and Remote Sportstar of the Year
• Sportstar Athlete with Disability
• Masters of Sport of the Year
• Service to NQ Sport
• Sport Team of the Year
• Sporting Excellence
