Water Service Disruption in Cooktown | 17 July 2024
Replacement of Main Flow Meter at Cooktown Main Water Reservoir.
10 July 2024 - 08:14PM
Please be informed that on Wednesday, 17 July 2024, teams will be replacing the Main Flow Meter at the Cooktown Main Water Reservoir. This essential maintenance work will ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of our water supply system.
Temporary Changes to Water Supply
During this period, the water supply will be switched to the Borefields. As a result, residents in Cooktown may notice a slight discolouration in their water supply. We assure you that the water remains safe to drink despite any changes in appearance.
Potential Water Pressure Impact
Additionally, some areas may experience reduced water pressure while the work is being carried out. These impacts are temporary, and regular water service is expected to resume later the same day as soon as the replacement work is completed.
Water Conservation Request
We kindly ask all residents to conserve water during the works period to help manage the temporary changes in supply and pressure.
